Nursing
The Springs Nursing Center offers a wide variety of nursing services for our residents. Below you find a short list of our more common nursing features:
Please contact us for detailed information on the clinical services we provide.
Rehabilitation
Our team is skilled in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored specifically to each resident’s unique needs and abilities. When delivering rehabilitation services to our residents, we incorporate a holistic approach, which focuses on physical, psychological, spiritual and emotional well-being. In addition, we work closely with nursing, dietary, and other disciplines to ensure the best possible services are being provided for each resident. Our therapy team is certified and trained to offer speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
Special Care Unit
The Home Place, our special care unit, is designed to provide a safe and secure approach of care for people with dementia/Alzheimer's related disorders. This 14-bed unit is secured for the wandering resident's safety. We offer individualized activity programs, and specially trained staff. We provide on-going support for families and friends. On the special care unit, there are a variety of activities conducted by a professional, caring staff. These activities are all designed to promote mental and physical stimulation for each resident with dementia. We often base our activities on what each resident can relate to, with emphasis on their past occupations and lifestyles. Each resident is unique, and although group activities are designed with socialization in mind, one-on-one activities are also provided to incorporate each resident’s strengths and interests. Families are encouraged to bring in special pictures or items from home. The items are placed in a shadow box placed outside each resident room to aid them in finding their room as well as to trigger familiar memories. Here at The Springs we are Medicare and Medicaid Certified. We also accept most insurance plans.
Namaste
The Springs has implemented a program for the special care unit called “Namaste” that promotes person-centered care. “Namaste” is a hindu term meaning “to honor the Spirit within.” This program is designed to acknowledge the person first, not the disease. The program blends nursing care and meaningful activities to provide relaxing experiences to even the most severely demented resident. Sensory-based practices include using comfortable armchairs, soothing music, aromatherapy, and gentle massage to emphasize comfort and pleasure. |
